Leasing recreational land

One way that people come to appreciate the value of a forest is through recreation. For many, “getting away from it all” means going into the woods.   Did you know that Potlatch offers recreational use permits to make its lands available for a wide variety of public uses?

  • I,ve heard your company is thinking about ending current leasing program and going to a hunting permit system here in Arkansas which would great. is there anything to it ?

    • Hi Dale! We saw your recent question about our Arkansas leasing program posted recently on our news/blog site; we emailed you but in case you missed that, we’re following up here. What we found out is that our current leasing program is not ending or changing. So, if you’re interested in more information, we invite you to check out our leasing website where you can find current available leases, answers to frequently asked questions, contact information and more. Click here or copy/paste into your web browser > https://rlms.potlatchcorp.com/.

Should you need any additional information, feel free to email me directly at stacey.kulyk@potlatchdeltic.com.
      Thank you and happy hunting!

    • Hi Travis! Thanks your question about a long term cabin lease. Not sure if you’re looking for a property that already has a cabin on it or if you’re interested in leasing land long-term and putting a cabin on it. Either way, you can find out all you’d like to know about the land we have available for lease at our leasing website – click here > https://rlms.potlatchdeltic.com/HomePage.aspx. Once you get there, you’ll see “Search Properties” in the main navigation – click on that and choose VIEW ON MAP. There, you can zoom in on the area/state you’re interested in and see all leases. There’s also a FAQ section which will let you know what’s permissible on your lease. The inventory varies by season and only currently available leases will be showing. So, if you do not find something now in the area you’re interested in, please check back next season for new leases.

If your hunt for recreational property changes from a leasing interest to a buying interest, please drop me an email and I’ll be happy to connect you with one of our preferred brokers. You can see properties that are available for sale at http://www.PotlatchDelticLandSales.com along with contact information for all the brokers in our Preferred Network.

If you do have any specific questions about a lease, new opportunities or even the website itself, you can contact our support team at 980-430-6154 or send an email to them, pchhuntsupport@orbishuntlease.com.

If we can direct you further or provide any additional help, please let us know.

  • We own property that is in hubbard county MN. You have a piece of property that I’m interested in buying. the Lease # is 1393529-2 Would this be available for purchase?

    • Good afternoon Dale and thanks for your inquiry about Lease #1393529-2 in Hubbard County and whether it’s available for sale. Our lease and for-sale inventory does change each season and we do welcome unsolicited offers for parcels that may not be currently listed. So, based on your property interest and specific questions, the best place for you to start is with Brett Anderson of Close~Converse, a PotlatchDeltic Preferred Broker in that neck of the woods. We’ve sent you an email with his contact information and have asked him to get in touch with you. If there is anything else we can assist with, please email us directly at realestate@potlatchdeltic.com. Thanks again!

  • I’ve got a question. I’m in a hunting club in autauga county Alabama and was wondering is it ok to plant food plots between the pine tree rows for deer without disturbing the pines some timber companies are ok with it was just wondering. Thanks

    • Hi James and thanks for your question. Various landowners and hunting clubs have different rules, so we do suggest you check in with your hunting club or the landowner directly. What we can share is that you can run into trouble if you’re tilling the ground between the trees to be able to plant; that can cause damage to the roots. Tilling can also disturb the soil so that disease and pests can get introduced and that can lead to their own problems. Tilling can also make the ground much more difficult to run equipment on during harvesting operations. If you’re not planning on tilling, there likely wouldn’t be any issue. Hope this helps. If there’s anything else we can help with, please email us at realestate@potlatchdeltic.com. Happy hunting!

    • Hi Johnny! At the present time, nearly all of PotlatchDeltic’s ownership in Minnesota is now under contract and there are no active ‘for sale’ or “leasing” listings. Earlier this year, PotlatchDeltic announced a sale of 72,000 acres to The Conservation Fund. Current PotlatchDeltic recreational leases will expire in April 2021. The company will have a small number of selected properties for sale near the city of Baxter going into 2021, and those new listings will be posted at http://www.PotlatchDelticLandSales.com. The Conservation Fund’s intent is to manage the forestland for wildlife, water quality and timber harvesting, while continuing recreational uses including hunting and fishing. For more information about future uses we suggest you visit The Conservation Fund’s website, http://www.ConservationFund.org. Hope this helpful. Thanks for reaching out.
