Hotspots for Finding Bucks on your November Hunting Trip
Finding just the right spot to find bucks on your November hunting trips requires planning, and it helps if you can think about where the bucks like to go.
Writing in Petersen’s Bowhunting, Bill Winke describes his favorite three “morning hotspots” for finding bucks:
- Doe bedding areas: This is obviously a place where bucks like to go. Be careful not to disturb the does, though, as you set up.
- Micro-plots: Planting small areas with clover or a brassica brand can attract bucks, particularly in the mornings during the rut.
- Funnels: Setting up in a funnel between two doe bedding areas can be a prime location, since does and bucks will be coming through, and you can hang out without disturbing the bedding areas.
As you prepare for and get out there on your November hunts, it’s a good time to think about having your own home base for your hunting trips and all your outdoor activities so that you can be closer to the action and ready to get out early to find bucks!
